Norris Criticizes Verstappen’s Racing Tactics After Miami Grand Prix Second Place Finish

Lando Norris’s Miami Grand Prix dreams were dashed early on when he overshot the track while battling Max Verstappen.
This mistake handed Oscar Piastri the opportunity to surge ahead, leaving Norris to fight back through the pack.
Norris eventually managed to pass Verstappen on lap 19, but the damage was already done.
Piastri had built a significant lead, at one point holding a nine-second advantage over the McLaren duo.

Verstappen’s Defense Costs Him

After the race, Norris wasn’t shy about sharing his thoughts on his battle with Verstappen.
“The fight with Max was good,” Norris said.
“He fought hard, but that’s up to him.
He messed up his own race.
He doesn’t race very smartly.
We could have finished first and second, but it didn’t happen because of his defense.”
Norris acknowledged that Verstappen put up a good fight, but felt that the Red Bull driver’s tactics ultimately backfired.
