Nokia has just introduced a new very cheap Android smartphone that is around €170 in Europe. This is the nokia g21an entry-level mobile with a 6.5-inch IPS LCD screen with a high refresh rate at 90 Hz and a 50 MP camera.
The new smartphone developed by HMD Global features a number of improvements to the profitable line of phones, such as the new 90Hz display. It also features the relatively modest but competent Unisoc T606 processor.

After several weeks of leaks, HMD Global officially revealed the new entry model. It is an option for those looking for a cheap and competent mobile, now with a modern design, triple camera system and elegant construction.
First of all, the new mobile has a 6.5-inch screen, IPS LCD technology with HD + resolution (720p). The best of all? The refresh rate at 90 Hz for greater fluidity in the presentation of content. The phone also has an 8 MP camera on the front, in its “U” notch.
The battery has 5,050 mAh and autonomy for 2 days
The high-capacity battery (5,050 mAh) has a range of two days of normal use according to HMD Global. This great autonomy is, in fact, one of the sales pillars of the new Nokia smartphone that integrates various saving modes.
More specifically, we have two modes, one less restrictive when the battery reaches 20% and another more severe to optimize the remaining 10% of battery. This was one of the points highlighted by the Finnish company during the presentation of the mobile phone.
It is important to note that the company mentioned a maximum autonomy of 3 days depending on the pattern of use, in this case for light use of the phone. In any case, it is still a remarkable value and quite rare in 2022.
On the other hand, the Nokia G21 comes with a 10W trickle charger included in the box. However, the user can use a faster charger with the phone that supports a maximum charging power of 18W.

HMD Global managed to include a large battery without increasing the thickness of the phone over its predecessors. In fact, its maximum thickness is 8.5 mm, which is quite thin and elegant by today’s market standards.
Next we talk about the improvements in the cameras with triple rear alignment. The first sensor has a resolution of 50 MP with Night Mode and Super Resolution, among other content capture options.
The second camera is just 2 MP (macro), with a third 2 MP sensor for depth information. In other words, the 5 MP ultra-wide-angle camera that was present in the previous model (Nokia G20) was replaced by these two sensors.
Android 12 arrives in 2022, promises Nokia
It becomes difficult to justify launching a new smartphone with an old version of Android. Currently, with the version of Android 12 already available since last October, we still have manufacturers such as HMD Global releasing products with an older version of the operating system.
Regardless, Nokia promises that the phone is “Android 12 ready,” meaning the update will arrive sometime this year. Additionally, the phone will also be entitled to Android 13 as well as three years of security updates.
