KL Rahul has been struggling to score runs in all three cricket formats for some time now. The condition is that he has also lost the vice-captaincy of these three formats. In T20 format, he too is running out of equipment. In this shorter format of cricket, he was unable to score runs or hit fast. When KL Rahul was asked about this, he replied something like this.
On the occasion of the launch of the new Lucknow Super Giants jersey for IPL 2023, KL Rahul answered some questions about his drop in hit rate in T20. He said: ‘I think things like the strike rate have gotten old. It just depends on the situation. If you’re chasing a target of 140 runs, then you don’t need to score runs at a 200 hit rate.
KL Rahul’s hit rate in T20 internationals has generally been great, but in recent matches he has failed to score quick runs. KL Rahul has scored 2265 runs in 72 T20 Internationals at a strike rate of 139.12. Since he debuted here in 2016 until 2020, his hit rate was between 140 and 160 every year. But in 2021, his hit rate dropped to 130. Last year it dropped even further to 126.
KL Rahul is the captain of the IPL LSG franchise. Last year he led his team to the playoffs. Along with an excellent captaincy, he also had some great hitting. But after IPL, when he returned to international cricket, he has not been able to catch up with him till now.
