Riyadh: The Saudi Department of Taxes and Customs has clarified that no customs tax will be levied on private parcels worth less than one thousand riyals.
According to Arab media reports, the relevant department in Saudi Arabia says that no customs will be imposed on private parcels worth less than 1,000 riyals. This amount will include the cost of goods and cargo charges.
The Saudi Department of Zakat, Tax and Customs has directed that the fixed rate of value added tax is 15% and it will be applicable to all imports.
In a statement, the department warned that if the concerned agency violates the tax rules, the user can lodge a complaint through the Value Added Tax app and attach proof of the claim will have to be attached.
The process of parcel and customs clearance in the country is the responsibility of the postal server, the user will take the clearance process from the postal server. Customs clearance is handled by individuals as well as companies and agencies.
It is the responsibility of the postal service to provide the customer with a document containing full details of the customs.
