The Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC) formally authorized the Nisibon AirPark home airfield operationthe first of its kind in the Caribbean Region, within a 23 million square meter property, which will include a real estate project, an adventure park with 13 attractionsan aviators club and other activities related to the aeronautical sector.
The certificate was delivered by the interim director general of IDAC, Héctor Porcella, to the president of Nisibon AirPark, Oscar Villanueva, who was accompanied by businessmen Fernando Villanueva and Eduardo Read, president and board member of the Viamar group, among others. Also present were the Director of the Airport Department, Víctor Pichardo, and the Commander General of the Dominican Republic Air Force, Major General Carlos R. Febrillet.
Porcella explained that the certification of the new aerodrome complied with all the requirements established in the Civic Aviation Lawl of the Dominican Republic No. 491-06, in a process that began in 2013.
He claimed that the aeronautical complex corresponds to the great moment that civil aviation is experiencing in the country as a result of the extraordinary boom in the tourism industry and the firm will of President Luis Abinader and Minister David Collado to strengthen investment in strategic sectors of the Dominican economy.
Highlighting the dimension of the Oscar Villanueva project, he assured that noor there is in the country or in the region a complex that contains an adventure park; an air community; two theme hotels; 7 kilometers of river; beach club and activities around a domestic airportamong other attractions.
The aeronautical components of the complex, together with the terminal and its hangars, will be complemented by a real estate development under the concept of villas with hangars or hangar-homes, where the owners can arrive and store their aircraft.
He private capital project is located in the community of Las Lagunas de Nisibón, in Higüeand, less than 50 kilometers from Punta Cana and is destined to become one of the main complementary attractions of the most famous tourist destination in the Caribbean region.
