Nintendo Switch 2 Price Expected to Exceed $400

The anticipation surrounding the Nintendo Switch 2 is building up, and several analysts have shared their insights with Bloomberg. They predict that the upcoming console may be priced at around $400, with some speculating it could go as high as $499.

According to Hideki Yasuda, the original Switch used an NVIDIA chip that cost around $80 per unit, whereas the chip for the Switch 2 is expected to cost between $130 and $150. This significant increase in component cost could justify a higher price point for the new console. As Yasuda explained to Bloomberg, it’s “not surprising” that the Switch 2 might be priced as high as $499.

Other analysts, including Serkan Toto, Yijia Zhai from UBS, and Robin Zhu from Sanford C Bernstein, believe the Switch 2 will be priced around $100 more than its predecessor. Additionally, the US Tariff policy introduced by President Trump could be a contributing factor to the potential price increase.

Despite the predicted higher price, analysts remain optimistic about the Switch 2’s launch, expecting it to be one of the biggest console launches ever. Hiroshi Yamashina from Macquarie Capital forecasts that the Switch 2 could sell up to 20 million units in its first year, a promising start for the new console.
