Nintendo just shared some huge news about its new Switch 2 console. The company officially confirmed that this latest gaming system has already sold over 6 million units across the globe. You can find these details in their recent investor report.
Getting to that number took less than two months. The console only hit shelves about seven weeks ago in various countries. This quick success means the Switch 2 is now the fastest-selling game system ever launched. By June 30, the exact number of consoles sold was 5.82 million.
It’s not just the console flying off shelves. Games for the Switch 2 are also selling very well. Total software sales have already passed 8.67 million units. Nintendo expects this number to grow even more, predicting over 45 million software sales before March 2026.
However, there’s a bit of news for owners of the first Nintendo Switch. That older model will get a new price in the US market. This change starts on August 3. We’ll have to wait and see if other regions will also see similar price adjustments.
