Nintendo Switch 2 comes with screen film, warning not to remove it

Nintendo Switch 2 Owners, Beware: Don’t Remove the Screen Protector

If you’re planning to get your hands on the Nintendo Switch 2, there’s something you should know. Nintendo has uploaded the user manual for the console, and it comes with a warning: don’t remove the screen protector.

The screen protector is a thin film that comes pre-applied from the factory. Its purpose is to prevent glass shards from spreading if the screen breaks. Nintendo explicitly warns against removing it, stating:

“The screen is coated with a film designed to prevent the dispersion of fragments in case of screen damage. Do not remove it.”

While the film provides some protection, it’s not a substitute for a traditional screen protector. If you want to safeguard your screen against scratches and dust, you can still buy a separate screen protector. Nintendo even sells its own screen protectors.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is set to release on June 26. We’ll have to wait for more information on pricing and pre-orders.
