Brandon Nimmo and Mark Canha had two hits and drove in three runs, and the New York Mets beat the Los Angeles Angels 7-3 on Friday after conceding two straight losses.

Every member of the Mets’ starting squad had at least one hit, and the NL East leaders finished with 13 for the third time on this trip to California.

David Peterson (3-0), the second of six pitchers to take the mound for New York, drove in a run of 2 2/3 innings in relief for the win.

Brandon Marsh had three hits and three runs in his first professional game with more than one home run. The day before, the Angels stopped a 14-game losing streak, the worst in franchise history, but they haven’t won two games since May 24.

Angels starter Jhonathan Diaz (1-1) took the loss after giving up five hits and three runs in 1 2/3 innings.
