NickWatch: Nickelodeon's first smartwatch for kids

The market for smartwatches for children is growing among parents who plan to have something for their children that can help with their safety and communication between them. Realizing this, ViacomCBS Networks International (VCNI) presented a very attractive product at Mobile World Congress.

This is NickWatch, the first connected watch for children with the Nickelodeon “stamp”. The children’s channel that produces hits like SpongeBob SquarePants is launching a product that is as attractive as it is clever.

Besides offering games and activities, NickWatch promises to create fast communication with family and friends. This is because the product allows you to make internal calls and answer messages.

It will be possible for parents to send messages to the watch, and the child will be able to respond not only with text but also with images or emojis. In addition to being able to make calls, those with a NickWatch can also receive calls from predefined numbers.

NickWatch also has a map feature. This allows adults to know the child’s whereabouts in real-time, thanks to GPS, Wi-Fi, and built-in mobile data.

The product in question was produced in partnership with the startup Watchinu, and each unit will arrive with the watch body, two bracelets (a more adult version and a personalized Nickelodeon version), and even a charging base.

With no specific release date yet, NickWatch will be available for purchase in 2022. Until then, more technical details on the product should be revealed.
