Nicki Minaj’s $20 Million Home Faces Forced Sale Over $503K Judgment

Nicki Minaj’s Los Angeles mansion is currently at risk of being sold. This development stems from a significant unpaid debt owed by the rapper and her husband, Kenneth Petty. Us Weekly exclusively reports on the unfolding situation.

Thomas Weidenmuller, a former security guard, filed a motion on October 6 asking the court to order the sale of the property. Weidenmuller secured a $503,000 judgment against Minaj, 42, and Petty, 47, in a 2019 assault lawsuit.

The judgment against the couple was obtained via default after they failed to respond to the lawsuit. Default judgments were issued against both in March 2024.

Minaj purchased the Hidden Hills residence for $19.5 million in December 2022, according to property records. The house spans 11,820 square feet and includes 11 bedrooms and 16 bathrooms.

Weidenmuller believes the home holds sufficient value to cover its existing mortgage, other liens, and his outstanding debt. The property’s current fair market value is assessed at $20 million.

According to court filings, Minaj has a mortgage lien of $13,258,000 on the house. She also has a homestead exemption totaling $722,151.

Weidenmuller’s motion claims this leaves approximately $6 million in equity above the existing liens and exemption. He argues this amount is "more than enough" to satisfy his judgment, including accrued interest and enforcement costs.

Weidenmuller’s attorney stated that Minaj is a "global music superstar," with an estimated net worth between $150 million and $190 million. The attorney added that Minaj is reportedly the highest-paid female rapper in the world.

Despite her financial capacity, Minaj has reportedly refused to pay the judgment. This refusal comes "despite multiple written requests for payment and levies filed with several of her alleged creditors."

Weidenmuller’s lawsuit alleges an incident at Minaj’s concert in Germany on March 22, 2019. A fan reportedly breached security and climbed onto the stage.

Minaj allegedly became angry with the security team responsible for the event. Weidenmuller claims he attempted to de-escalate the situation when Minaj was yelling at another security guard.

He stated that Minaj became upset by his intervention and informed Petty. Weidenmuller was then allegedly ordered to Minaj’s dressing room.

Once inside, Weidenmuller claims Minaj was present with Petty and two other security guards. He alleges Minaj began yelling at him, after which Petty "without warning" struck Weidenmuller in the face.

Weidenmuller reported feeling "stunned and disoriented" after the alleged assault. He sought medical attention at a hospital, where doctors determined he had severe injuries that required jaw surgery.
