Nibali warns of Pogacar’s tactic for Milan – San Remo

Tadej Pogacar starts as one of the cyclists to watch during Milan-San Remo after his great start to the season and his exhibition in the recent Paris-Nice, winning three stages and the overall.

Pogacar, who already has three monuments to his list after winning the Liège-Bastoña-Liège and twice the Giro de Lombardy, will seek his fourth monument with his first victory in the Classicissimato add another great career to a record that scares with 55 wins despite the fact that ‘Pogi’ is only 24 years old.

Following the expectations generated by Pogacar in Milan – San Remo, Vincenzo Nibali, another Classicissima champion, wanted to reveal in statements to La Gazzetta dello Sport what the Slovenian’s tactic could be to seek victory.

Nibali believes that Pogacar will launch a hard attack at the Cipressa after trying last year at the Poggio but without success. “Last year he tried to open up differences at the Poggio, but I think this year he will focus on the Cipressa. He will try to change something from last year, so I don’t rule out that he and his team shake up the race at Cipressa to wear down Mathieu Van der Poel and Wout Van Aert. For me Van der Poel and Van Aert are the great rivals for Pogacar, who is the great favourite”.
