Wellington: New Zealand health officials have claimed the death of a citizen with the Pfizer vaccine.
According to the details New Zealand authorities said on Monday they had linked the death of a 26-year-old man to Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine, a form of myocarditis caused by a rare inflammation of the heart muscle after the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine. Û”
This is the second death in New Zealand linked to the known but rare side effects of the corona vaccine, with health officials reporting in August that a woman had died after receiving a dose of the vaccine.
Regarding the coronavirus vaccine, the Independent Safety Monitoring Board said in a statement: “From the information available to us, it is possible that this person may have had myocarditis due to vaccination.”
However, it was also found that the deceased had not sought any medical advice for his symptoms after the first dose, and died within two weeks.
Remember that myocarditis is an inflammation of the heart muscle that can limit the heart’s ability to pump blood and cause changes in the heartbeat.
A spokesman for Pfizer said the company was aware of reports of deaths in New Zealand, had monitored all reports of possible adverse effects, and believed the benefits of the vaccine were clear.
Despite the rare side effects, the Vaccine Safety Board said the benefits of vaccination far outweigh the risks.
