New York Yankees

When each game ends at Yankee Stadium, the emblematic song “New York, New York” with the legendary Frank Sinatra is heard.

The Yankees always behave like baseball royalty, which is why they have a mutual exchange agreement with Manchester United, number one in the history of the Premier League, the most traditional soccer league in the world.

The Yankees also have 27 Major League championship crowns, and that amount is more than double the second place, which is occupied by the St. Louis Cardinals with 11.

However, times have changed, and the Yankees don’t win as much as they used to. In fact, their last period of success in a row was in the late 90’s, when they were champions in 4 of 5 years (from 1996 to 2000′), missing only 1997 when the Marlins sneaked in. The team triumphed again in 2009, the club of Derek Jeter, Alex Rodríguez, Jorge Posada, but they are already 12 years old. Worse, they haven’t been back to the World Series since 2009, and that’s terrible news.

THE MANAGER:Aaron Boone, 48, will attend his 5th. Bell. In his first four years he has always been above 500, including the first two with 100-plus wins. Even in 2019 they had 103 wins and won the Eastern Division. His overall managerial record is 328-218 in wins, a good .601 average.

ROTATION:The Yankees have varied options for the start of the season, if everyone is healthy. Headlining are star Gerrit Cole, Jameson Taillon, left-hander Jordan Montgomery, and then several Dominicans: Luis Severino, Domingo Germán and rookie Luis Gil. Severino had 4 appearances last year, all in relief, and could be fine after the problems with his operation are overcome. There is also the Cuban Nestor Cortés, and in relief a body group headed by the Cuban Aroldis Chapman (30 saves and 3.36, with 97 strikeouts in 56 innings.

POSITIONS.Gary Sánchez returns to catcher, Luke Voit to first, DJ LeMahieu at second, Gleyber Torres at short and Gio Urshella at third. In the outfield, Joey Gallo, Aaron Hicks and Aaron Hudge, with Giancarlo Stanton at DH. What would be missing? That they go to free agency to look for a short stop of caliber, but for that they will have to wait for the present mess to end.
