New Year’s weekend: what is the traffic forecast for Bison Futé until Monday evening?

Are you going to start the year in traffic ? While many French people will be away for New Year’s Eve, smart one does not report any particular difficulties nationwide on Friday 30 or Saturday 31 December. The whole country is classified green in the sense of departures and returns. Things get complicated on the other hand for the day of Sunday 1st and Monday 2nd January.

The first day of the year 2023 is classified as orange over a large part of eastern France. Returns from ski resorts may cause difficulties “on the main Alpine axes, in the Rhône Valley and on the A6 motorway”.

Orange dominates the roads of the East on Sunday

Bison Futé advises motorists to cross Ile-de-France before noon, but also to avoid the A6 motorway, at the Fleury toll gate, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. The A7, between Orange and Lyon, should also be bottled between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m., like the A43 motorway, between Chambéry and Lyon, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
