The United Arab Emirates has shared new information for entry into the capital Abu Dhabi, under which vaccinated tourists, unlike residents and citizens, will not be required to show evidence of a booster shot.
According to the source, the explanation regarding tourism was given after reviewing Abu Dhabi’s entry rules as there was confusion among the people regarding its new rules.
Abu Dhabi has imposed strict restrictions on the border with Dubai to prevent the spread of the epidemic, forcing all drivers to stop for vaccinations and testing for the virus as a precautionary measure to avoid the virus. Before the epidemic, this wide highway was often empty.
The ever-changing needs in the UAE have also created some headaches for travelers.
Drivers from Dubai who had not received the booster vaccine were unexpectedly deported from the capital last week.
However, the UAE later clarified that all citizens and residents wishing to enter would now have to show proof of booster shot in addition to both doses of the vaccine and maintain their “green status” on the official health app. ۔
Abu Dhabi’s tourism website also clarified that the new rule does not apply to international visitors and tourists, who can enter the emirate if they have received both doses.
All visitors, whether residents or tourists, must submit a negative result of a corona virus test performed within the last two weeks to enter the capital and its public places, including malls and gyms.
In recent weeks, there has been a resurgence of daily cases of Covid-19 in the UAE, due to the spread of the highly contagious type of Omicron.
