This car seems completely out of time: With its huge V8 engine with 5.0 liter displacement, the new Ford Mustang (as a GT or as a Mustang Dark Horse) is like a declaration of war on the electric car lobby. But what is probably the best-known pony car is likely to have its loyal fan base and will again find enthusiastic buyers in Germany. You can now order the new Ford Mustang. As usual, it is available as a fastback and in the convertible version called convertible. Ford is selling the revised Mustang with a slightly more angular design.

Engine: Improvements for more stability
The engine remains the proven V8 with a displacement of 5.0 liters, but now with a new intake system with two air inlets and two throttle valves. At low speeds, only a single throttle valve opens, which is intended to improve fuel efficiency. If the V8 revs higher, the second throttle valve opens synchronously, thereby maximizing power development. The crankshaft is made of forged steel and has a polymer coating to reduce friction. Ford also redesigned the camshaft.
The Mustang GT now produces 328 kW (446 hp) and has a torque of 540 Newton meters. The top performance model Mustang Dark Horse (with modified chassis, optimized aerodynamics, modified camshafts) has 333 kW (453 hp).
Reading tip: Here (scroll down a little) you can find the test of the Ford Sync infotainment system in the Ford Mustang (predecessor)
transmission: Ford equips the Mustang GT with either a 10-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission.

Prices start at 59,900 euros

Infotainment system and audio
The Sync 4 infotainment system has a digital cockpit with a customizable 12.4-inch dual display and 13.2-inch touchscreen for the Sync 4 infotainment system. Six driving modes are available to the driver: Normal, Sport, Slippery, Drag Strip and Track, as well as a customizable setting. The driver can use it to customize the character of the Mustang according to his or her own ideas.
The digital instrument cluster displays the selected driving mode with a visualization of the Mustang. It is based on the 3D software from Unreal Engine.
Ford has replaced the physical controls for climate and other functions with soft buttons on the touchscreen. Does everyone like that? This created additional space in the center console for personal items and a charging cradle for smartphones, which can be wirelessly linked to the Ford Sync 4 system via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
For an additional charge, a B&O sound system with twelve speakers plus a subwoofer ensures crystal-clear sound.
Software updates come to the car wirelessly. A visit to the workshop should not be necessary. For example, using the FordPass app you can remotely start and stop the engine, unlock and lock the doors, preset the scheduled departure time and view important vehicle information such as fuel level, oil levels and maintenance history. The sports car can also be located.
Assistance systems: Traffic sign recognition with speed limit, adaptive cruise control system with stop & go function, lane keeping assistant, avoidance assistant and reversing emergency braking assistant.
