Ralf Rangnick will step down from his post as Lokomotiv Moscow’s director of sport and development to lead Manchester United until the end of the season, according to The Athletic. Subsequently, he will hold the position of sports director of the English club for two years. This move by Manchester United may be decisive in their intention to sign Haaland, since the German coach was responsible for signing the Norwegian for Salzburg, when he held the sports management of the Red Bull group. Manchester United is one of the clubs that will battle with Madrid to sign the Borussia Dortmund striker next season. Rangnick’s arrival at Old Trafford is a strategic decision that represents a point in favor of the Red Devils.
Ralf Ragnick can be considered one of the greatest scouts in Europe right now. In fact, the list of players who were discovered by him and who are currently big stars is very wide. Liverpool players Sadio Mané, Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita and Ibrahima Konate are some of his discoveries, like Timo Werner (Chelsea), Kimmich (Bayern), Upamecano (Bayern) or Szoboszlai (Salzburg).
But Ralf Rangnick is also a master coach. Tuchel or Nagelsmann are some of his pupils and they follow the tactical principles of the new Manchester United manager.
