Poles now have the opportunity to test the very first video games available in the Netflix catalog. A handful of users can thus discover two titles taken from the universe of Stranger Things on their Android smartphone. On the other hand, the games do not run within the application, but need to be installed via the Play Store.
It’s no longer a secret that Netflix intends to add video games to its catalog. Rumors have been circulating for several months on the subject, and there is now no room for doubt. The firm’s Polish Twitter account made the matter official, at the same time as first tests are deployed. Thus, a handful of Android users in the country can discover the very first games developed by the streaming giant: Stranger Things 1984 and Stranger Things 3.
Indeed, Netflix first wants to focus on mobile games. Nevertheless, the company has already expressed its willingness to deploy on several platforms in the future. In the meantime, it is therefore the Android application that offers titles without any advertising or micro-transaction, which, it should be emphasized, is quite remarkable for free mobile games. Note, however, that it is necessary to have subscribed to a Netflix subscription to be able to benefit from it.
The first Netflix games are available on Android
You would think that, like movies and series, games run within the Netflix application. For the moment, it is not. By going to the dedicated category, the user has access to an Install button, which redirects to the Play Store. Netflix games are downloaded and installed like any other application. The section within the catalog therefore looks more like a promotional showcase than a real list of content.

However, that may well be set to change. “We are at an early stage and we still have a lot of work to do in the coming months, but this is a first step”, Netflix said. It is therefore not impossible that the way of operating will evolve in the coming months, over the course of the tests that will be carried out with users.
