Portuguese center Neemias Queta recorded a historically significant individual performance for the Boston Celtics, setting multiple career highs despite the team’s 119-115 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Queta finished the game with 19 points, matching his personal best in the NBA. He also achieved a career-high 18 rebounds, surpassing his previous record of 13.
His rebound tally included 8 offensive boards, another career best, and 10 defensive rebounds, also a new personal high. He added 2 blocks to his stat line.
This particular combination of 19 points, 10 defensive rebounds, 8 offensive rebounds, and 2 blocks had not been seen from a Celtics player since Hall of Famer Robert Parish accomplished it in 1989.

Returning from an injury, Queta made an immediate impact, securing his first career NBA double-double in the first half alone with 13 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 blocks.
Boston held a 10-point lead at halftime, up 69-59. However, Minnesota rallied in the third quarter to take an 83-82 lead.
The Timberwolves extended their advantage to 108-98 in the final quarter before the Celtics mounted a dramatic 12-0 run to tie the game at 110-110. Ultimately, Anthony Edwards, who scored 39 points, proved decisive in securing the win for Minnesota.
Celtics guard Jaylen Brown was the team’s leading scorer with 41 points on the night.
