Neemias Queta Impresses, Opponent Coach: ‘Can Impact Game in Many Ways’

Boston Celtics center Neemias Queta drew significant praise for his impactful performance in a recent victory, with an opposing coach highlighting his development and versatile play.

Mike Brown, head coach of the New York Knicks, lauded Queta following the Celtics’ 123-117 win on Wednesday. Brown previously coached Queta during his time with the Sacramento Kings.

Brown commended the 7-foot (2.13-meter) Portuguese player’s athleticism and rebounding ability. “He’s 7 feet tall, good feet, a vertical threat,” Brown stated. “[Gets] many rebounds.”

The Knicks coach expressed satisfaction for Queta finding a suitable role in Boston. “I’m very happy for him, happy he’s able to show his talent here in Boston. It looks like he’s found a place he can call home.”

Brown added that Queta’s diverse skill set makes him a challenging opponent. “I don’t like facing him because he’s a player who can impact the game in several ways.” He also credited the Celtics’ staff for Queta’s growth.

Queta himself emphasized his purpose with the team after contributing 8 points and 6 rebounds in 21 minutes. “It was great. That’s why I’m here. I’m here to show what I can do,” he remarked.

The win against the Knicks marked the Celtics’ 12th regular season victory. The team, coached by Joe Mazzulla, currently ranks eighth in the Eastern Conference standings.

The Celtics secured the victory despite several key starters being absent from the lineup.
