Nearly 2 million euros of cannabis seized in Moselle

A big hit. A vast drug trafficking network has been dismantled in Moselle, report Actu.fr and France Blue Lorraine North. Five people were arrested and several kilos of cannabis were seized, the public prosecutor of Metz announced on social networks on Tuesday, May 10. These individuals are suspected of being involved in extensive drug trafficking between Moselle and Spain.

“Dismantling of drug trafficking in Moselle. The Metz Research Section, supported by the Montpellier SR and the Moselle gendarmes, arrested 5 people in connection with drug trafficking “, announced the prosecutor on Twitter.

Obviously, the drug was imported from Spain and passed through Moselle where it was packaged for resale. “We seized 228 kg of cannabis with an estimated resale value of around 2 million euros,” said the Metz prosecutor. The five people arrested were indicted and remanded in custody, the prosecution said.

A major seizure was also made on May 5 by the Swiss police. More than 500 kilograms of cocaine were indeed found in a shipment of coffee beans delivered to a Nespresso factory, located in Romont, in the canton of Fribourg. Staff at the site, owned by the giant Nestlé, “found an indeterminate white substance when they unloaded the bags of freshly delivered coffee beans”, local police had said. The drugs found came from Brazil.
