Argentine point guards Luca Vildoza, from Milwaukee Bucks, and Leandro Bolmaro, from Minnesota Timberwolves, will be in the next edition of the NBA Summer League. The man from Mar del Plata is already practicing with his team, while the Cordovan will join the squad after the two commitments with the Argentine National Team for the World Cup Qualifiers.
Activity in the North American Summer League will begin on Thursday, July 7 in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the Thomas & Mack Center and at the Cox Pavilion. The Final Phase will take place between July 16 and 17 for the title of the Summer League.
Vildoza, with a past in Quilmes de Mar del Plata, trained two weeks ago with the 2021 champion team and will appear in this edition, unlike what happened last season, when he suffered an injury and could hardly play. That circumstance earned him the termination of his contract with the New York Knicks. According to the planned schedule, the man from Mar del Plata will debut on July 8 against the Brooklyn Nets, broadcast by ESPN, at 8:00 p.m. in Argentina.
The panorama is different in the case of Bolmaro, who is now with the Argentine team to face the third windows for the 2023 World Cup against Venezuela and Panama. The former Barcelona player will join Minnesota after those games and his first game will be on Friday the 8th against Denver Nuggets, at 8:00 p.m. in Argentina. Vildoza and Bolmaro could share the court on July 13, when the Bucks-Wolves matchup is scheduled.
Meanwhile, the third Argentine who could play the new season is Facundo Campazzo, who as of Friday may become a restricted free agent and may negotiate his contract with any team in the League, although the Denver Nuggets have the right to match any offer to keep him. Still, that option seems highly unlikely considering how little he was considered in the closing games of last season.
