Walker Kessler, a promising young center in the NBA, has something to celebrate despite his team’s poor performance this season. His girlfriend, Abbie Stockard, has won the Miss America 2025 pageant, representing the state of Alabama.
The final of the contest was held on January 5 in Orlando, and Kessler was unable to attend due to a game against the Magic. However, he shared a video on social media watching the event with his coach, Will Hardy, and his reaction to Stockard’s victory.
Kessler expressed his pride and congratulations to Stockard on social media, saying, “Congratulations, Abbie. I am very proud of you and everything you represent. Your hard work and trust in the Lord has granted you this incredible opportunity! Use your light to illuminate those around you!” Stockard responded, “Your presence meant a lot to me. I am very grateful for this life journey that we can take together.”
Stockard, a nursing student and cheerleader at Auburn University, started participating in beauty pageants at the age of 19. She has now been crowned Miss America and will receive a prize of $50,000.
A Rising Star in the NBA
Walker Kessler, a 23-year-old center, is one of the most promising young players in the NBA. He was selected by the Grizzlies in the 22nd place in the 2022 draft but was sent to the Timberwolves and eventually ended up in Utah as part of the Rudy Gobert trade.
In his third season with the Jazz, Kessler is averaging 10.4 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game, ranking second in the NBA in blocks behind Victor Wembanyama. He also has a 71.0% accuracy in field goals, ranking second in the League.
