NBA Postpones Matches
The NBA announced the postponement of two matches due to the wildfires. The games between the Los Angeles Lakers and the San Antonio Spurs, as well as the Los Angeles Clippers and the Charlotte Hornets, have been rescheduled. The Lakers’ match against the Charlotte Hornets, initially set for Thursday, was also postponed. New dates for these matches have not been assigned.
NFL and NHL Also Affected
The NFL and NHL have also been impacted by the wildfires. The NFL announced the transfer of the playoff game between the Los Angeles Rams and the Minnesota Vikings from the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles to the Glendale State Farm Stadium in Phoenix, Arizona. The NHL postponed the game between the Los Angeles Kings and the Calgary Flames.

Several sports figures have been directly affected by the wildfires. JJ Redick, the Lakers’ coach, witnessed the destruction of his rented home in Pacific Palisades. Steve Kerr, the Golden State Warriors’ coach, lost his childhood home in Pacific Palisades, where his mother still resides. Kawhi Leonard, a Clippers player, was absent from a game against the Nuggets to help his loved ones during the crisis.
