Shai Gilgeous-Alexander took over. He scored 15 of his team’s last 16 points. The Oklahoma City Thunder came back to beat the Indiana Pacers 111-104.
They tied the NBA finals 2-2.
The Pacers had a big lead. Their fans were cheering. But they let the Thunder win. Benedikt Maturin missed three free throws in a row. He made two fouls before the ball even came in. That killed the Pacers’ chances.
The Thunder got back in the game in the last quarter. Chet Holmgren joined Shai, and they took the lead with 2:21 left. Then Maturin messed up.
Shai finished with 35 points. He made 11 of 20 two-pointers, 1 of 4 three-pointers, and 10 of 10 free throws. He also had three rebounds, three steals, and one block. Jalen Williams scored 27 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Alex Caruso had 20 points and five steals. Chet Holmgren had 14 points and 15 rebounds.
For the Pacers, Pascal Siakam scored 20 points. He had eight rebounds, five assists, and five steals. Tyrese Haliburton scored 18 points and had seven assists. Obi Toppin had 17 points and seven rebounds. Myles Turner scored 12 points, and Andrew Nembhard had 10.
