Naylor pushes in 3; Guardians beat White Sox, Francona ties Stengel

Josh Naylor drove in three runs, rookie Tanner Bibee pitched into the seventh inning and the Cleveland Rangers beat the Chicago White Sox 6-3 on Thursday night.

Manager Terry Francona caught up with Casey Stengel for 13th place on the all-time list, earning his 1,926th win. And the Rangers handed the White Sox their sixth straight loss, despite Jake Burger hitting two homers.

Naylor drove in two runs on a double and scored in a three-run in the third off Dylan Cease (4-4). This gave the Guardians a 4-0 lead.

In the seventh inning, Naylor got a rare RBI double. Reliever Aaron Bummer deflected a soft grounder that came at him and the ball ended up going to center field.

Venezuelan Andrés Giménez scored on the play to make it 5-3 on the scoreboard.

Steven Kwan and Gimenez each scored two runs, and the Guardians came out on top despite going 5-for-19 with runners in scoring position.

Bibee (7-2) allowed three runs and six hits in 6 2/3 innings. Emmanuel Clase allowed a pair of singles in the ninth but collected his 28th save in 35 chances.

For the Guardians, the Dominicans José Ramírez 5-0, Óscar González 1-1. Venezuelans Giménez 4-2 with two runs scored and one produced, Gabriel Arias 4-2 with one scored.

For the White Sox, Cubans Luis Robert 3-0, Yoán Moncada 4-1, Yasmani Grandal 4-1 with a run scored, Óscar Colás 4-1. The Dominican Eloy Jimenez 4-1. The Mexican Seby Zavala 3-1.
