Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Surprising Statement on Bollywood Actors Dancing at Parties

Nawazuddin Siddiqui recently opened up about Bollywood stars dancing at weddings and parties. In a conversation with YouTube channel All About Eve, he said, “Yes, why not? What’s wrong with it? It’s part of our profession.” He added that people often complain about actors dancing at weddings, but they are all “bhand” or folk artists.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui: A Change in Perception

Nawazuddin explained that in the past, “bhand” were not allowed to mingle with society. They were seen as having a bad influence and were kept outside villages in tents. They were only called to perform and then sent away after being paid. “Bhand” were not allowed in society because they were considered open-minded.

A Shift in Status

The actor noted that times have changed. Today, actors have money, fame, and luxury, so they feel like part of society. “I’m still trying to fit in. When people ask me about dancing at weddings, I get annoyed, but the ‘bhandgiri’ continues,” he said. Nawazuddin Siddiqui played a character in Anurag Kashyap’s film “Dev D” who sang at a wedding procession.
