Navy judokas reissue title in Military Games

The Navy of the Dominican Republic (ARD) confirmed its power in judo by taking first place in the tournament of that discipline corresponding to the program of the 2023 edition of the Military and Police Sports Games.

In the contest, held on Sunday at the National Judo House of the Olympic Center, the ARD team was crowned champion for the second year in a row by accumulating a total of 129 points, the product of eight gold medals, the same amount of silver and three made of bronze.

The second place trophy was awarded to the representation of the National Police (PNA) who scored 42 goals, after getting two gold medals, a pair of silver and four bronze.

The Air Force of the Dominican Republic (FARD) ranked third, with 41 points, winning two gold medals and seven bronze, while the Army of the Dominican Republic (ERD) achieved fourth place, with 28 points, product of two silver and six bronze medals.

Last year, the ARD scored a total of 112 points, winning seven gold, six silver and four bronze medals, while the FARD won 63 points by winning three gold, three silver and six gold medals. bronze.

The tournament was endorsed by the Dominican Judo Federation (Fedojudo).

Prior to the competitions, a brief ceremony was held, which was attended by the representatives of the military entities, as well as those in charge of the teams, athletes and guests.
