Actress Nausheen Ali Sardar, a familiar face from the hit TV show ‘Kkusum,’ recently revealed something truly surprising. She claims that renowned matchmaker Sima Taparia turned down her request for a partner. The reason, according to Nausheen, was her religious background.
Nausheen Ali Sardar gained fame playing the lead role in ‘Kkusum.’ Many years after the show, she sought help finding love. She approached Sima Taparia, a well-known marriage consultant based in Mumbai. Taparia is famous for guiding people through arranged marriages worldwide, especially from her Netflix series ‘Indian Matchmaking.’
Nausheen shared in a recent interview that her request was rejected. She stated that Sima Taparia refused to find her a match because she is Muslim. Nausheen recalled telling the matchmaker, “I said I wanted to marry a Catholic, Sikh, or Punjabi. That’s my preference.” However, she was allegedly told, “No, we can’t find anyone for you because you are Muslim.”
This contact with Sima Taparia happened a few years ago, around the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. Nausheen explained that her sister was the one who reached out. “My sister contacted her because her show was a big hit,” Nausheen told Siddharth Kannan in an interview. “My sister told me, ‘The way you are looking for a life partner is not right. At least let us help you.'” Nausheen agreed, saying she was open to marriage if she liked someone. Her sister watched Sima’s show and suggested they connect.
Nausheen, who is 43 years old and currently single, clarified her own situation. She shared her personal struggle, saying, “My problem is that I was born Muslim, but I don’t follow Islam.” This makes finding a suitable partner complex for her. Despite her openness to different faiths, the alleged response from Sima’s team was clear: “No, we cannot find for you because you are Muslim.” There were rumors in 2019 that Nausheen was dating American businessman Alexander Nathan. However, Nausheen has always maintained they are just good friends.
