National Tourism: Santero and Signorelli won in Río Gallegos

The Mendoza Julian Santero (Toyota Corolla) won the final of class 3 of the National Tourisml that took place at the José Muñiz racetrack, in Río Gallegos, for the second date of the category’s annual calendar. Santero got his eighth victory in history (had not succeeded since San Nicolás 2022) with a time of 34m. 39s. 721/1000 to cover the 20 laps of the 4,206-meter long track.

After having won the second series, Santero, who started in third position on the grid, led by 1s. 817/1000 to Cordoba Manuel Mallo (Chevrolet Cruze), while the driver from Lobería, Jerome Teti (Chevrolet Cruze) finished third, 5s behind. 613/1000. The Buenos Aires native of San Vicente, Gaston Iansa (Ford Focus) conquered the fourth position, at 6s. 586/1000; the rionegrino Jose Manuel Urcera (Ford Focus) finished fifth, 9s behind. 940/1000 and the tandilense Leonel Pernia (Ford Focus) lifted his foot off the accelerator to avoid adding ballast and finished sixth, 10s behind. 681/1000

Santero took advantage of a bad start from Rio Negro Antonino García (Toyota Corolla), owner of pole position in the final race, to settle in second position behind Pernía (Ford Focus). But After the third lap, Santero overtook Pernía, took the lead and went clearly towards victory, without major surprises.

While, Matthias Signorelli (Toyota Etios) got the win in class 2, 16 laps. The pilot from Buenos Aires obtained his first success in the minor division, with a time of 28m. 06s. 504/1000. In the second position came the Entre Ríos marco veronesi (Toyota Yaris), 4s. 951/1000; while the podium was completed by the runner from Villa Gobernador Gálvez, Alejandro Torrisi (Nissan March), 5s. 669/1000. The next competition in the category will be held on Sunday, April 9, at a racetrack to be designated.
