Superstar Nagarjuna just dropped some exciting news. His latest film, Coolie, is making waves, and right in the middle of all that buzz, he announced his 100th movie. And yes, he even gave us a sneak peek into his role!
Nagarjuna recently impressed audiences as Simon in Rajinikanth’s Coolie. His negative character in the film has earned him loads of praise. People are absolutely loving his style and swagger. Fresh off Coolie‘s theatrical release, Nagarjuna shared big news about his next project. It’s a huge milestone: his 100th film. Fans are already super thrilled to see him in this brand-new role. Coolie, which hit theaters on August 14, received a mixed bag of reactions from critics, but Nagarjuna’s performance definitely stood out. His latest release, Coolie, saw him in a significant role alongside Rajinikanth, and the original source also noted his appearance with Sowben Shahir, Upendra Kumar, Aamir Khan, and Shruti Haasan.
The Director for Film Number 100
Want to know who’s directing this landmark film? It’s acclaimed Tamil director Karthik. Nagarjuna spilled all the details during a chat on Jagapathi Babu’s G5 show, ‘Jayamma Nishchayithura’. He confirmed that Karthik will be directing his 100th movie, and for now, it’s titled ‘King 100’.
The groundwork for ‘King 100’ has been happening behind the scenes for quite some time. Nagarjuna revealed that the script was pitched to him by director Karthik a whole year ago. The preparation phase has been ongoing for the last six to seven months. He described it as a "fantastic film" and an "action-packed family drama." The plan is to kick off shooting right after Coolie.
Nagarjuna’s New Role
So, what kind of character will Nagarjuna play in his 100th film? It’s an interesting shift! In Coolie, he’s playing a villain. Before that, in the film Kubera, he started out as a villain’s associate, though his character did change for the better later on. But for ‘King 100’, Nagarjuna made it absolutely clear: "This time, I am the hero!" As for director Karthik, he’s known for his work on ‘Nitham Oru Vaanam,’ which starred Ashok Selvan.
