A Royal Air Maroc flight from Casablanca to Moscow made an unscheduled landing at Nador’s Laroui airport due to weather conditions in Europe. The plane refueled before continuing its journey, a necessary measure to ensure safety and reach its destination.
Strong winds and changing climates in Europe during this season significantly impacted the plane’s speed and fuel consumption. As a result, the flight crew had to take precautions to guarantee a safe arrival.
Sanctions imposed on Russia pose an additional challenge for flights to Moscow, as European airports cannot provide fuel due to these restrictions. This is forcing airlines to look for alternative flight plans.

Royal Air Maroc is working on new flight strategies that include potential refueling stops at Moroccan airports such as Laroui in Nador or Oujda, or passing through airports in Tunisia. This adjustment aims to ensure smoother and safer flights to Moscow while navigating the current sanctions.
