AVM has released a new update for its Fritzbox devices, with the latest version being 8.03. This update is available for the first Fritzbox model and can be installed via the user interface or automatically if the function is enabled.

Users of the Fritzbox 7682 can access the update by going to the system and then update section of their device. The update primarily fixes issues reported by users, such as problems with extended failure protection, and updates security functions.

New Features

The update includes new functions introduced in version 8.0, launched in September last year. These features include:

  • Graphical Representation: A graphical representation of connections on the overview page
  • Online Monitor: A new online monitor providing information about Internet connection and device utilization
  • IPv6 Support: IPv6 data can now be transmitted via a Wireguard VPN tunnel
  • Mesh Overview: A graphical overview of all devices connected to the FRITZ!Box in a new design
  • DECT improvements: The number of simultaneous DECT phone calls has been increased from three to five
  • Push Service: A revised design and improved comfort for the push service

Additional Updates

The Fritzbox 7510 has also received an update, bringing it to version 8.02, which includes similar functions to version 8.03. Users can visit the AVM website to learn more about the specific improvements included in the update.
