Mysterious Shooting Leaves 11 Year Old Boy With Serious Injuries

Investigation and Medical Update

The investigation into the shooting of an 11-year-old boy in the Casabó neighborhood of Montevideo is ongoing, with the Homicide Division of the Police assuming the case due to its severity.

A medical update indicates that the child remains in intensive care but is stable, after undergoing surgery for a femur fracture. The gunshot wound has an entrance point but no exit point, and the child continues to be hospitalized at the Pereira Rossell hospital.

Details of the Attack

The attack occurred at 1 am on Saturday, when two men on a motorcycle shot at the child’s house. The child was outside the house at the time and was struck by a bullet. His mother and grandmother, who were inside the house, were unharmed.

The child was initially taken to a local hospital by an individual and later transferred to Pereira Rossell hospital by ambulance, where he received further treatment.

Other Incidents

In addition to the shooting of the 11-year-old boy, there were other crimes reported on Saturday, resulting in five wounded – three from blunt objects and two from firearms.
