Hostage Release in Gaza Strip
The exchange of prisoners between Israel and Hamas has led to the release of 15 hostages since the ceasefire began on January 19. The latest development involves the release of three more hostages, whose names have been received by Israel.
The Israeli government, led by Benjamin Netanyahu, is reviewing the list of hostages to be released. A statement from the president’s office indicated that a detailed response will be provided after the list has been reviewed and the families have been informed.
Confirmation of Hostage Release
The military arm of Hamas has published the list of hostages to be released, but it must be confirmed by Israeli authorities. According to reports, the hostages include an Israeli national, Calderon, 53, and two others, Keith Shmonsel, 65, of American origin, and Yarden Bibas, whose wife and children remain in captivity.
Recently, Netanyahu met with the previously released hostages and issued a warning to those who may harm Israeli captives, stating that “anyone who dares to harm our captives, his blood will be on his head.” The situation remains sensitive, with international attention focused on the Gaza Strip.
