An investigation is underway after a body was found in the Arroyo Miguelete area. The body was discovered on a sheet of plates and appeared to be calcined. This means that the body had been exposed to high temperatures, possibly as a result of a fire.
On Wednesday afternoon, personnel from the Unified Police Response Module (URPM) arrived at the scene, which is located on Rambla Costanera between José Batlle and Ordóñez and José María Silva. They were responding to a call made to 911 by a woman who reported a possible calcined body. The woman had alerted the authorities after noticing a fire in the area on Monday. Although the fire had gone out on its own, the woman’s discovery suggested that something more serious might have occurred.
When the police arrived, they found a makeshift structure made of plates, inside which was the body of an adult. However, the identity of the person is still unknown. The Scientific Police are working to survey the area and identify the victim. Meanwhile, researchers from Operational Zone III and the 11th Flagrance Prosecutor’s Office are also investigating the case to determine the circumstances surrounding the person’s death.
