Glenn Maxwell scored a century in the second T20 against West Indies last Sunday (February 11). This was the fifth century of Maxwell’s T20 International career. After this century, Maxwell broke his silence on the alcohol problem. He said his family was more affected by this case than he was. Maxwell also thanked everyone for their support.
We tell you that Maxwell passed out while watching Brett Lee’s band Six and Out perform and then had to be taken away by ambulance. After scoring a century against West Indies, Maxwell said of the incident: “I think it affected my family more than me.”
He said: “I knew I had this week off. And obviously this incident and the timing was far from ideal, the fitness program and it felt very good and refreshing. And it was all about preparing for this T20 series.”
In the second T20 against West Indies, Maxwell scored 120* runs in 55 balls with the help of 12 fours and 8 sixes at a strike rate of 218.18. Batting first, Australia scored 241/4 runs in 20 overs with the help of Maxwell’s brilliant innings. This was Maxwell’s fifth century in T20 International, equaling Rohit Sharma.
Then the West Indies team chasing the target could only manage 207/9 runs in 20 overs. Captain Rovman Powell played a brilliant innings of 63 runs off 36 balls with the help of 5 fours and 4 sixes but he failed to lead the team to victory.
