Musgrove pitches no-hitter to 6th and Sánchez homers, Padres defeat Marlins

Joe Musgrove pitched a no-hitter into the sixth, Fernando Tatis Jr. had three doubles and three RBIs and the San Diego Padres routed the Miami Marlins 10-1 on Thursday night.

Newly acquired Gary Sánchez homered for the second straight day as part of an 11-hit drive, after San Diego had just two the night before.

The Padres finished a nine-game road trip 5-4.

Musgrove (3-2) held Miami hitless until Luis Arraez singled to the infield. The right-hander allowed one run and three hits in six innings.

Venezuelan Jesus Luzardo (4-4) took the loss, allowing five runs, four hits, striking out eight and walking one in 5 1/3 innings.

For the Padres, the Dominicans Tatis 4-3, two runs scored and four RBIs; Juan Soto from 3-0; and Sánchez 4-2, two runs scored and three RBIs. Venezuelan José Azócar 4-1

For the Marlins, Venezuelan Luis Arráez 2-1, an RBI. Cubans Jorge Soler 3-1 and Yuli Gurriel 4-0. The Dominicans Ulises De La Cruz 4-1, Jean Segura 3-0 and Jesús Sánchez 4-0.
