Munich’s Allianz Arena Sole Bidder for 2028 Champions League Final

Munich’s Allianz Arena is poised to host the 2028 UEFA Champions League final, as it stands as the sole candidate for the prestigious European club event.

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) announced the development, making the German stadium a near certainty for the highly anticipated match. It is the home ground of Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

In contrast, the 2029 Champions League final features a competitive bid process. England’s Wembley Stadium and Spain’s Camp Nou, home to FC Barcelona, are both candidates to host that year’s final.

Meanwhile, the venue for the 2026 Champions League final has already been confirmed. It will take place at the Puskás Arena in Budapest, Hungary, on May 30, 2026.

No Portuguese stadiums were listed among the candidates for any upcoming European club competition finals, according to UEFA.
