Mumbai Indians player got a place in Team India for Asian Games, read how he performed

India has announced the squad for the 2023 Asian Games. Rituraj Gaikwad has been given the captaincy. The India team has given a chance to many new players for this tournament. In this, Mumbai Indians player Tilak Verma also has a place. Tilak has performed well in domestic matches. He was also seen in rhythm during the IPL. Along with Tilak, Rinku Singh of Kolkata Knight Riders is also in the team.

Tilak has scored 1236 runs in 25 List A matches. During this he has scored 5 centuries and 5 half centuries. He too has taken 8 wickets in this format. He has scored 480 runs in 13 innings of top-flight matches. He has scored a century and 2 half centuries on this. Tilak has scored 1418 runs in 47 T20 matches. During this, he scored 10 half centuries. His best score in T20 has been 84 not out. Seeing Tilak’s current performance, he got a place in Team India.

It should be noted that in the 2023 Asian Games, matches will be played in T20 format from September 28 to October 8. India has given the chance to players who have done well in IPL and domestic matches. Many new players have been added to the squad including Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rahul Tripathi, Rinku Singh, Prabhsimran Singh and Jitesh Sharma. Arshdeep Singh has returned to the India squad. Shahbaz Ahmed also has a place. Yash Thakur, Sai Kishore and Sai Sudarshan have been kept on standby.
