Mumbai Indians Edge Past Sunrisers Hyderabad by 4 Wickets in Thrilling Encounter

Mumbai Indians edged out Sunrisers Hyderabad by four wickets in a nail-biter at the Wankhede Stadium. Hyderabad posted 162 on the board, which Mumbai chased down in the 19th over with four wickets to spare. The match was crucial for both teams as they fought to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Mumbai got off to a flying start in their chase of 163. Rohit Sharma played most of the first four overs and scored 26 off 16 balls, his highest individual score in IPL 2025 so far. He was joined by Ryan Rickleton, who made 31 before getting out.

The partnership between Will Jacks and Suryakumar Yadav turned the game in Mumbai’s favor. They added 52 runs together, making the target look achievable. However, both batsmen were dismissed within seven runs of each other. Suryakumar scored 26, while Jacks made 36.

Mumbai’s fourth wicket fell at 128, leaving them 35 runs short of the target. Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma joined forces, adding 34 runs. But Pandya was out for 21 when Mumbai needed just one run to win.

The scores were level at 162, with Mumbai needing just one run. However, they struggled to get that run, taking seven balls and losing two more wickets. Tilak Varma finally sealed the win with a four off Zishan Ansari’s first delivery in the 19th over.
