Javed Akhtar, one of Bollywood’s lyricists, has once again got into legal trouble by comparing the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) with the Taliban. Mumbai’s Mulund Metropolitan Magistrate Court summoned the veteran Bollywood lyricist.
The court issued summons in this case last December. The Mumbai High Court directed the singer to appear on April 20. However, he could not appear in the court on the appointed day. The Mulund court ordered the singer to appear on June 20.
“The Taliban are barbaric. Their activities are reprehensible. But those who support RSS, Vishwa Hindu Parishad or Bajrang Dal are equally barbaric” – Javed Akhtar was accused of making such comments in 2021. There is a lot of debate about it. The veteran lyricist was reportedly summoned on Tuesday for his comments. The summons was sent based on the case of lawyer Santosh Dube.
It is known that Santhosh Dubey has been associated with RSS since childhood, even though he is a lawyer by profession. Javed Akhtar knows very well that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the Taliban have no similarity in their complaints, ideology, philosophy, thinking or working methods. However, he made such comments to tarnish the image of the organization and insult dedicated workers like him.
