Emily in Paris has experienced several notable cast changes since its debut in 2020. The hit Netflix series centers on Emily Cooper, portrayed by Lily Collins. She navigates her new life in France and a complex love triangle involving Gabriel, played by Lucas Bravo, and Alfie, played by Lucien Laviscount.
As Emily’s journey through Europe introduces her to new people, some characters have also exited the series. These departures occur as storylines conclude or characters move away from Emily’s immediate circle.
One significant shift involves Camille Razat, who plays Camille. She will not return for the upcoming fifth season. Series creator Darren Star addressed the fluidity of character appearances. He told TVLine in September 2024 that characters can "enter and exit" a show, and their visibility can change. Star noted Camille remains part of the show’s world.
Lucas Bravo, who portrays Gabriel, had previously voiced frustrations about his character’s development. In October 2024, he told IndieWire that he felt disconnected from Gabriel’s storyline. Despite his past comments, Bravo ultimately returned for Season 5. However, several other cast members have departed.
Actress Kate Walsh, who played Emily’s Chicago boss Madeline, left after Season 3. Her character’s storyline concluded as Madeline had a baby and could no longer work remotely from Paris.

Charles Martins, who appeared as Mathieu in the first two seasons, also did not return. His character was an early romantic interest for Emily. Mathieu’s departure made way for the continuing central relationships with Gabriel and Alfie.

Camille Razat, having played Camille for four seasons, confirmed her exit in April 2025.

Razat shared her decision on Instagram, calling her time on the show an "incredible experience." She stated that her character’s "story has come to a natural end." Razat expressed a desire "to explore new horizons" in her career.
Following Camille Razat’s departure, Melia Kreiling, who played Sofia Sideris, is also not expected to return. Sofia’s character was Camille’s love interest. Her story arc is tied to Camille’s presence in the series.

Thalia Besson, who joined the cast in Season 4 as Geneviève, will also not be back for Season 5. Geneviève’s character developed a connection with Gabriel, which further complicated Emily’s personal life.

In a surprising revelation, Rupert Everett, who played Giorgio, claimed to Vanity Fair in July 2025 that he was "fired."

Everett recounted filming one scene in the last season and being told by production, "next year we’ll talk." He never received a callback. The actor described his departure as a "tragedy."
However, a source close to the production offered a different perspective to Vanity Fair. The source stated that Everett was hired as a guest star. They added that his character’s storyline had reached a natural conclusion.
