Mukesh Kumar recounted sentiment of debut wicket, bowler story brought Siraj to tears

Fast bowler Mukesh Kumar made his international debut for the India team through the second Test which was played between India and West Indies. Mukesh Kumar, who plays for Delhi Capitals in IPL and Bengal in First Class, took 2 wickets while bowling in the first innings of the Test against West Indies.

Mukesh took the first wicket of his international career through host Kirk McKenzie of the West Indies. Now Mukesh has described the feel of this wicket. He recounted how captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli hugged him after his debut. The BCCI shared a video, in which Mukesh Kumar is seen talking with fast bowler Mohammad Siraj.

At the beginning of the video, Mohammad Siraj is seen telling Mukesh Kumar, “Your story gives us goosebumps. To be honest, his story is very different. Congratulations on debut and you also got the debut wicket. Later in the video, Mukesh Kumar said, “When I got to know the man I’m playing I immediately became attached to him, what is this thing?”

Mukesh further said of his debut wicket: “When the wicket was found, Virat Bhaiya and Rohit Bhaiya came and embraced each other. It seemed to me that the person I was watching on TV until yesterday is hugging me, shaking my hand. It was a strange feeling. Thinking about it…” Mohammad Siraj further said, “I really can’t describe this feeling.”

Tell them Mukesh Kumar bowled 18 overs in the first innings for India, in which he took 2 wickets for 48 runs. Apart from Kirk McKenzie, Mukesh walked Alik Athanaz. Kirk McKenzie was caught by Ishan Kishan while Alyque Athanaz was lbw.
