MS Dhoni Hints at Post IPL 2025 Retirement Plans

The cricket world is abuzz as the Indian Premier League (IPL) kicks off, with the Chennai Super Kings facing off against their arch-rivals, the Mumbai Indians. MS Dhoni, the legendary cricketer, will be back in action for the first time this season. At 43, Dhoni’s age has sparked retirement rumors, but he’s just made a bold statement about his future in the league.

In a pre-match chat on a Jio Hotstar show, Dhoni said, “I can play for CSK as long as I want. It’s my franchise, and even if I’m in a wheelchair, they’ll still pick me.” This confident assertion has sent shockwaves through the cricket community.

CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad has high hopes for Dhoni’s performance this season. With several new players joining the team, Gaikwad believes Dhoni’s experience will be invaluable. “His presence gives me and the other players a boost,” he said. Gaikwad also praised Dhoni’s fitness, saying, “I don’t think he’s ever been out of form or struggled with fitness. Even Sachin Tendulkar was playing well at 50, so I think Dhoni has a lot of cricket left in him.”

Last season, Dhoni stepped down as CSK captain, handing the reins to Gaikwad. He then batted at numbers 7 and 8, scoring 161 runs with a blistering strike rate of 220. His performance has raised expectations for this season, and fans are eager to see what he’ll do next. Will Dhoni continue to defy age and deliver on the field? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure – his passion for the game remains unwavering.
