Chasing 180, Chennai Super Kings stumbled, losing half their team for 60 runs.
Dewald Brevis broke the deadlock with a 52-run knock off 25 balls,
including four fours and four sixes,
keeping CSK’s hopes alive.
After Brevis’ exit, Shivam Dube took the reins,
scoring 45 off 40 balls and steering CSK close to victory.
With eight runs needed off the final over,
MS Dhoni struck the first ball for a six.
He then handed the strike to Anshul Kamboj,
who sealed the win with a boundary.
Dhoni’s unassuming 17 not out off 18 balls was
the decisive factor in CSK’s thrilling two-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders.
This marked his 100th unbeaten innings in the IPL,
a feat that cements his legendary status.
Dhoni’s Legacy Continues
Dhoni has led CSK to five IPL titles and
taken over as captain when Ruturaj Gaikwad was sidelined due to injury.
He has played 274 IPL matches,
scoring 5423 runs at an average of 41.09,
with a highest score of 84 and 24 fifties.
This season, Dhoni has scored 180 runs in 12 matches.
CSK has two matches left,
against Rajasthan Royals on May 12 and
Gujarat Titans on May 18.
Despite being the first team to be eliminated from the playoffs,
Dhoni’s presence continues to inspire his team.
He doesn’t chase runs. He wins games.
