Dhoni was named Player of the Match, his 18th IPL award. He became the oldest player to receive this honor at 43 years and 281 days, breaking Praveen Tambe’s record. Tambe was 43 years and 60 days old when he won the award. Dhoni’s first Player of the Match award was in 2008 when he was just 25. His last one was in 2019 at 37 years old.
Dhoni’s impressive performance helped CSK chase down Lucknow’s target of 167. Lucknow batted first at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. Dhoni’s winning hit was the icing on the cake.
