Mozilla bets on Metaverse and takes over ‘Active Replica’

Mozilla, best known for its Internet browser called Firefox, is betting on the Metaverse. This is announced by the company via a blog post on their website. In it, the company also revealed that they have acquired the company ‘Active Replica’.

Collaborated earlier this year

Active Replica, in turn, has experience as a developer of virtual experiences. Earlier this year, Mozilla and Active Replica la teamed up for a multi-day arts and technology festival called Mozfest.

In the announcement on Hubs, Mozilla indicated that both companies will benefit from the other, either through the scale of one or the development capability of the other. They said the following:

Together we see this as an important opportunity to bring even more innovation and creativity to Hubs than we could alone.

Big plans for the future internet

Active Replica has announced that they will continue to work with the company’s existing partners. There will be no changes here due to the acquisition.

Mozilla also recently acquired a Machine Learning developer called ‘Pulse’. Mozilla seems to have big plans for the future of the Internet. Also, they seem to be working out their Metaverse plans.

It was recently announced that the Metaverse is expected to grow significantly larger than it is now in the future. But where the number of users grows, the chance of exploitation also increases. Especially with a new technology that is not yet fully regulated.
