Movistar signs Muriel, Ledanois and Roelandts as sports directors

The Movistar team continues to renew itself for the 2023 season. After closing its squad of 30 riders in the men’s team and 15 cyclists in the women’s squad for the 2023 season, now the team has decided to strengthen its staff as well.

For this reason the Spanish team has announced this Wednesday the incorporations of the Spanish Xabier Muriel, 41 years old; the French Yvon Ledanois, 53 years old; and Belgian Jurgen Roelandts, 37, as new sports directors for the next season.

Muriel arrives at Movistar after standing out in teams such as the extinct Euskadi Murias Taldea or Caja Rural, while Ledanois returns after being part of the team structure between 2005 and 2012. For his part, Roelandts will make his debut as sports director at Movistar, a structure that he also knows well after competing in the 2019 and 2020 seasons before retiring as a professional at the end of this last campaign.
